A PADI Advanced Course in Pacific Harbour will be a course you will never forget. Not only is the scenery on land absolutely stunning and idyllic, but the underwater world is really kicking off in this part of the world. It is the Pacific, meaning that the visibility is usually more than brilliant, and the reefs are healthy and colorful to the max.
The shark dive is only done 4 times a week, with two dives per day. The rest of the week dives will be done on the surrounding reefs, not a bad alternative. The corals are absolutely phenomenal.
Pacific Harbour is located on the picturesque Queen's Highway that follows the south coast of the main Fijian island of Viti Levu. With Nadi 2 hours west and Suva 45 min east it is easily accessible but manages to slide under the radar of the package tourism hordes that can ruin a destination. The locals are friendly and welcoming, the water's clear and warm and the atmosphere is definitely set to "island time".
During your 5 dives of this course you should not be surprised to see friendly sharks swim past in the distance, but make sure you book the special Shark Dive upon booking your course. Qualifying as an Advanced diver will qualify you for the Shark Dive. And THAT is something you should not miss when in Fiji.
DIVE PACKAGE:
On the day of arrival you will be greeted by the friendly staff, shown your room and given an orientation of the area and of the diving or courses you will be doing. You'll do two dives a day on diving days. Between dives you'll hang out on the boat where there's water and snacks available, all included.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is performance based. That means you have to understand and pass the theory and perform the in-water skills correctly and with ease. Therefore, the itinerary can vary slightly from course to course. The course will take 2 to 3 days depending on the students enrolled. 5 dives will be spread out on the available days. No more than 3 training dives will be conducted each day.
Please allow a minimum of 24 hours, after your last dive, before flying.
(some countries will allow you to fly after 18 hours on land).
