Passionate about working with social media and the work of NGO's? Volunteering with creative technolgies in Split gives you a chance to do both. In this program you will be helping the NGO's team create campaigns that encourage the local community to take action in their own surroundings!
This project requires volunteers to have experience in website development, illustration, marketing and communication, graphic design, videography or photography. Volunteers will initially work with our local team and the staff of the organization to understand the specific needs they will be supporting and to agree on a set of deliverables for their project period.

Experienced website developers can apply their understanding of the organization’s goals and target audience to build a website incorporating relevant content and media to support their charitable initiatives. Graphic design professionals can create a range of marketing materials, which could include flyers, print advertisements, website content, social media posts, or logos. These materials will relate on specific needs but volunteers are invited to contribute ideas for effective campaigning. Experienced volunteers in videography or film can create promotional videos to support their campaign efforts. Volunteers with experience in photography document their activities and provide them with media. This could involve taking photos of the community members which the organization supports, or helping to record activities of a specific project. Other tasks might include creation of infographics, brochures, posters, animations and announcements. Volunteers should also be prepared to work in their events, beach clean-up, street actions and any other that may happen as it’s essential to get involved in the project’s mission.

The organizations that require this kind of support usually like to take advantage of the English skills of the international volunteer to communicate in English and to include English in their communication channels, so having a native English speaker is a huge plus.

As these organizations might not have the necessary resources available, volunteers need to bring their own laptops, design software and/or camera equipment in order to participate on this project. Volunteers should include all relevant qualifications and/or experience within your application.

What Makes a Good Volunteer?

Volunteers need to be flexible and keep an open mind concerning their placements as situations can arise beyond our control which could require you to be placed at a different project than the one you have initially chosen. We will of course always do our utmost to fulfill your initial wishes but do remember that where you are going is quite different from where you are coming and as such one should be prepared for things not always going according to plan.

Volunteering and intercultural travel share a common trait: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. This program is designed for proactive individuals and groups that are prepared to adapt to the local environment and its current needs. Naturally, the scheduling and activities of our program are subject to change. Alterations in activities are mainly due to changes in local conditions, which we believe is part of what makes overseas programs the interesting adventure and incredible learning experience that they are.

How Long Should I Volunteer?

Our projects range from 1 week up to approx. 30 weeks. Projects have a specified minimum stay, then it’s up to you how long you can commit. In our experience the longer you stay the more you will gain, as your understanding of the project broadens and you take on more responsibilities. Every volunteer will be given a certificate of appreciation at the end of their stay as a symbol of volunteering stay.

Nearby, volunteers can find everything one might need: local coffee shops, supermarkets, ATMs, pharmacies and other utilities. The hostel offers a laundry service. Please note that the hostel is on the 1st floor and there are only stairs available.

We have an 8-bed mixed dormitory and smaller gendered dormitories. If you request for a gendered one in advance, we will try to accommodate you! Each bed has a set of lockers to store your belongings.
