Mojo Surf Academy - start Byron Bay

A Typical Week

Begin each day with a tasty breaky available from 07:00. Then head off on your surf lesson with Mojo’s elite instructors who will take you to the break of the day to begin your surf lesson. Approx from 15:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, you will have a theory lesson or fitness classes.

A Typical Weekend

The weekends are all yours! You can chill out, surf, hang out with friends or go visit some of the sights and scenes the local area has to offer. This is also a good time to practice and hone those developing skills and be ready for the week to come!

1-Month Course

The 1-month course will facilitate the development of the following skills:
- Practical development of beginner to intermediate surf skills
- Ocean safety, ocean awareness, fitness training
- Access to a variety of waves
- Instruction to achieve catching, riding and turning on unbroken waves

2-Month Course

The 2-month course will facilitate the development of the following additional skills:
- Increased surf theory, and exposure to more challenging waves
- Increased ocean fitness, paddling power and confidence

3-Month Course

The 3 month course will facilitate the development of the following additional skills:
- Preparation to pass all requirements to become a Level 1 instructor
- Provide up to 40 hours of practical coaching experience

Course Lessons

Live the dream to develop the skills to become a qualified surf instructor
Develop your surfing with 5 x weekly practical surf development lessons
Get to know the nitty-gritty with 1-2 weekly surf theory lessons
Learn how to read a wave with ocean safety and awareness lessons
Gain your confidence with lessons provided by highly qualified & experienced instructors
Get in shape with 3-4 fitness sessions every week
Improve week on week with video analysis sessions
All equipment provided except for wax. Purchasing your own wetsuit is recommended

Local Payment

Local Payment for the 3-month Surf Academy course is for Statutory Certification & Accreditation to become a Level 1 Surf Instructor.

Accommodatie

Surf, Art, and Adventure: Experience the best of Byron Bay at our Mojosurf Camp! Dive into the iconic surf and artsy vibe of Byron Bay and stay at the world-renowned Arts Factory Lodge.

The Mojosurf Camp Byron Bay is the perfect spot to connect with fellow wave riders, explore Byron’s attractions, and enjoy a wide array of activities and workshops. The camp is located right next to the Byron Bay Brewery which has a host of DJ’s, gigs and live performances in the evenings. Our guides will also show you around the other copious amounts of places in town to see live music, DJ’s and dance the night away. At the Arts Factory, don’t miss the talent show every Monday night where a whole host of talented individuals perform, ranging from musicians, right through to comedians and mime artists.

You will stay in a Mojo teepee village during the summer, or shared dorm accommodation during winter. There are shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

The number of nights included corresponds to the length of stay so either 28, 56 or 84 days!

When you arrive at Spot X our Academy Leader will meet you at the bus stop and bring you to the surf camp.

Maaltijden

All your meals are taken care of while you are at the camp! Vegetarians, vegans, gluten or lactose intolerance - no worries.
