Uluru Tour with Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon & MacDonnell Ranges (Alice Springs to Alice Springs) (formerly Outback Camping Adventure)

Day 1

**Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru** After a short drive, arrive at Kata Tjuta (The Olga’s). Its 36 domes are of various sizes and provide quite a contrast to Uluru. You’ll get to know the landscape well on the Walpa Gorge Walk between the domes. As the evening unfolds, head to the sunset viewing area and enjoy a light snack as the sun slowly sets, casting various earthy tones across Uluru. The perfect end to a remarkable day awaits you back at camp as you enjoy a delicious spread of food with your group. If the weather permits, sit outside under the stars. Accommodation: Permanent Eco Tent Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner Driving Time: 6 hours Walking Distance: 3 kms (approximately 1-hour) This trip is flexible. As such, the described itinerary is only an example of the form your trip could take. Where you go and what you do can change depending on the group’s interests and weather conditions, however all trips will include visits to the following: Kata Tjuta, Uluru, Kings Canon and the Western MacDonnell Ranges.

Day 2

**Day 2: Uluru Sunrise** An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise. Your guide will take you to one of the significant cultural sights of Uluru, outlining Anangu rock art and passing on one of the site’s creation stories. Enjoy a self-guided, full base walk around Uluru. Once you’ve had lunch, visit the Cultural Centre, and view hand-crafted art by local First Nation Peoples of the Western and Central Deserts. Travel onto our exclusive campsite near the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where the group will have dinner and enjoy the stars. Accommodation: Permanent Eco Tent Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Driving Time: 4 hours Walking Distance: 10kms (approximately 3-hours). **Special Information** The Anangu people have dissuaded visitors from climbing Uluru for decades; as Traditional Owners of the land they feel a deep responsibility for everyone who travels to the area. In 1998, we were among the first tour operators to stop climbing Uluru. The Intrepid Group are proud to be involved with local communities in Uluru and to have an ongoing commitment to providing employment for the Anangu people. You show respect when you choose not to climb Uluru, but walk with Anangu throughout the area and share their stories instead.

Day 3

**Day 3: Kings Canyon | First Nations Star Experience | West MacDonnell Ranges** This morning, tackle the iconic Kings Canyon Rim Walk, taking in the Lost City, Garden of Eden, Amphitheatre, and the North and South Walls. We enjoy lunch before driving during much of the afternoon to our overnight camp in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Tonight, join an immersive First Nations star talk beneath the vast, uninterrupted skies of the West MacDonnell Ranges, stepping beyond the constellations you thought you knew and into a sky rich with ancient knowledge.
