Catch an early flight to the Galapagos. In the afternoon, visit the highlands to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Flights from Quito to Baltra depart between 6:40am and 9:40am depending on the day of the week. These will arrive into the Galapagos between 9:30am and 12:30pm with a short refuelling stop in Guayaquil (you will not disembark the plane).
The National Park charges a visitor fee of USD100, payable on arrival, which funds park maintenance and supervision in the Galapagos as well as ecological study, conservation, and infrastructure development in Ecuador's other National Parks. Entry fees and the funds they generate for the National Park System are among measures taken by the Ecuadorian government to protect its natural heritage.
Day 3 - Floreana Island/Punta Cormorant
Visit Post Office Bay and enjoy guided walks to observe the bird and wildlife and learn about the natural history of Floreana Island. After, snorkel at Corona del Diablo.
Day 4 - Punta Suarez/Bahia Gardner
Enjoy the day on Espanola Island, one of the oldest in the archipelago. Visit Punta Suarez, known for its amazing bird colonies and home to the waved albatross ( between April and December). After lunch, visit the white sandy beach of Gardner Bay and jump in for a snorkelling excursion.
Day 5 - Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
Learn about the history of the Islands at the San Cristobal Interpretation Centre then get up close to marine life at Kicker Rock. In the afternoon, head to Isla Lobos known for its friendly sea lions.
Day 6 - Santa Fe Island/South Plaza
Visit Santa Fe island for a chance to mingle with the iguanas. Continue to South Plaza for some great bird watching opportunities.
Day 7 - Santa Cruz Island/Quito
In the morning, visit the Charles Darwin Research Center before flying back to Quito. Enjoy an evening in Quito.
Day 8 - Quito
Depart at any time.
