Hola! Once you arrive in Mexico City we'll take you to straight to our hotel (Included Airport transfer From Mexico City Airport MEX only). You'll have plenty of time to recover from your flight before meeting up with everyone in the group and getting excited for what's to come.
DISCOVER MEXICO CITY - MEXICO CITY
What a place to begin our adventure! Known for mountainous surrounds, rich history and incredible buildings, we'll kick things off with an orientation around the historical centre. Wandering bustling streets, we'll learn about the Aztec Empire and history of Spanish Conquest as well as check out icons like Cathedral Metropolitan and Zocalo. The afternoon is yours to explore, opt to check out a museum or listen to a mariachi song. Tonight we'll refuel with a traditional Mexican dinner and show at Plaza Garibaldi!
PUEBLA & OAXACA - OAXACA
Saying adios to the city, today we'll depart for Puebla also known as ??Magic Town', a beautiful colonial town flanked by volcanoes. Here we'll learn about the history of the area - such as, this town is where Cinco de Mayo originates from! After lunch we'll continue our journey to Oaxaca, where we will check in to our accommodation. We'll then head out and experience the streets by moonlight, hitting up the bars and restaurants!
OAXACA & TEHUANTEPEC - OAXACA
Today we're learning be learning about how hand-made textiles are produced from a local family. We'l then travel into the valley to visit a traditional mezcal distillery. We'll learn all about this energising spirit, then we'll head to the beautiful town of Tehuantepec, where we will spend the night.
CANYONS & MOUNTAINS - SAN CRISTOBAL
Jumping on a boat, today we'll discover some of Mexico's natural beauty. Cruising through the Canyon of Sumidero we'll see cascading waterfalls, rich jungle, and cross our fingers in the hopes of spotting some cheeky monkeys and lurking crocodiles. Later we're heading up into the mountains for our next stop, the delightful colonial town of San Cristobal de las Casas. Enjoy a short walking tour and Pox tasting - a traditional drink from Chiapas region, before going out to an incredible dinner.
SAN CRISTOBAL - SAN CRISTOBAL
This morning we're visiting the Indigenous community of Zinacantan to learn and make a traditional breakfast with a local family. Once back in town we'll orient ourselves with a short walking tour, experiencing the unique Church of St. Juan Bautista. he afternoon is free for you to visit the local markets, try some of the famous Chiapas coffee, see the beautiful churches in San Cristobal de la Casas.
AGUA AZUL WATERFALLS -PALENQUE
Leaving the mountains early, we'll drive through lush valleys before arriving at the famously blue Agua Azul Waterfalls, refreshing ourselves with a swim in the crystal clear turquoise pools. This afternoon we'll check out the Mayan ruins of Palenque, magnificent pyramids that have been uncovered from the jungle.
TRAVEL TO BACALAR - BACALAR
We'll depart for Chicanna this morning, incredible Mayan ruins deep in the jungle. Later we'll travel to Bacalar, where more thrilling adventures await.
LAGOON BOAT TOUR - BACALAR
Today we're spending the day exploring Bacalar's stunning turquoise lagoon via a private boat tour. We'll be mesmerised by the blue hues and cenotes drenched by sunshine. With nothing on the agenda but swim, relax and enjoy a few drinks, we'll really feel like we're in paradise.
TRAVEL TO TULUM - TULUM
Our Mexican fiesta continues as we travel to the Yucatan Peninsula. After checking in to our hotel in Tulum, a town known for it's white sand beaches and Mayan ruins by the ocean, we'll have the rest of the day to explore and catch a sunset by the beach!
CHICHEN ITZA & CENOTES - TULUM
Today's a busy one! First up is Chichen Itza, an amazing UNESCO World Heritage Listed site featuring the massive pyramid known as El Castillo. We'll have plenty of time to soak up this majestic, ancient site, before spending the afternoon diving into the clear waters of the beautiful Chukum cenote. We'll head back to Tulum to watch the sunset and top off another great day of exploring.
DAY 12 - PLAYA DEL CARMEN - PLAYA DEL CARMEN
This morning we're off to Playa del Carmen, a town famous for palm-fringed beaches and buzzing nightlife. You'll have plenty of time to lounge on the beach or find a local watering hole to quench your thirst. Tonight we'll get a little loco for our final dinner and drinks togeher, getting amongst the nightlife that Playa del Carmen is known for!
DAY 13 - DEPART PLAYA DEL CARMEN OR EXTEND YOUR STAY - PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Time to say adios as our Mexican adventure comes to an end. You can check out to head back home, stay on in Playa Del Carmen or continue your travels. We'll be on hand to help with planning any onwards travel.
