Nong Khiaw Jungle and River Trails

Meet your English-Speaking guide in your hotel lobby and set off on a journey to Nong Khiaw, featuring a scenic 3–4-hour drive. We make a first stop at Ban Na Nyang, a village celebrated for its traditional Lao Leu-style houses and artisan handicrafts. Enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant along the way. We arrive in Nong Khiaw in the late afternoon; you'll still have the chance to wander through the charming village or ascend to the breathtaking Pha Somnang Viewpoint. 
End your day with a dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to the village for the overnight

After breakfast, start the day with a visit to the mysterious Patok Cave, a local highlight. After exploring the cave, meet up with your local guide and proceed to the boat pier for the next part of your journey. Embark on a scenic longboat ride along the Nam Ou River, where stunning views of quaint villages set against the backdrop of towering mountains and dramatic limestone cliffs await. This captivating 50-minute cruise leads directly into your trekking adventure. 
Step off the boat and into the heart of lush jungles for a four-hour trek, immersing yourself in the verdant landscapes. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking natural beauty, providing a perfect pause in your exploration. 
Continue your trek, crossing a small river to visit a local farm, then push further to an untouched island for some leisure time. The day concludes with a unique culinary experience: a hands-on cooking class featuring freshly harvested vegetables from the farm, preparing you a delicious and rewarding dinner.

After breakfast, explore Muang Ngoi district, discovering scenic viewpoints, captivating caves, and local life. Embark on a downstream boat journey back to Ban Sop Kong village, a traditional Khmu village, where your guide will highlight the distinctive characteristics of both villages. Following this insightful comparison, embark on a trek through picturesque rice paddies, lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, until you arrive at a stunning waterfall.  
Reward yourself with a refreshing swim in the waterfall's pristine waters, followed by a traditional Lao picnic lunch. As you continue your journey back, pass by an organic farm where you can sample locally produced tea and coffee.  
Prepare to engage your arm muscles as you kayak downstream on the Nam Ou River for approximately 1 hour. Along the way, witness the lively local river life, from people fishing to children swimming, and even pigs and water buffaloes sunbathing. Feel free to stop whenever you desire or simply relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery until you reach your destination back in Nong Khiaw.
