Arrive at Chamberlain Hostel, where you will meet your guide and receive a short briefing. You will walk to the sky train station and board the train for a short ride to Wongwianyai, which will leave you with a feeling of a day beyond the beaten track when you walk through local neighbourhoods to get to the station where the train ride starts. If time permits, you will enjoy a local snack and coffee from the local market stalls around the station.

Jumping on the train as it leaves the station, you will feel that you are driving through the locals' kitchens and living rooms. On the way, you will see the big buildings of Bangkok become smaller in the distance until rice fields and houses on stilts surround you. With open eyes you can lean back and enjoy the scenic ride. When the train comes to a stop, you will have arrived in the middle of the Mahachai fresh market. Your guide will walk you through some of the small alleys and show you all the delights of this authentic fresh market.

You'll then cross the river with a small boat or ferry and take a short ride by rickshaw to the train station. This train ride is a bit different as it goes through slightly different scenery filled with salt planes and rice fields. At the end of this train ride you are in for a culturally unique and truly fascinating experience: the market that swallows the train as umbrellas and stalls are opened again on the trail seconds after the train has left it behind. You will have time to see the local market on the rail tracks before your guide will find a minivan for you to return to Bangkok. Upon arrival in the outskirts of Bangkok, change from van to bus and then to a boat ane head to Sathorn Pier, which is also Saphan Taksin BTS Skytrain Station where you started the day. Expect to arrive back in Bangkok around 16:30, depending on traffic.
