We will pick you up from your hostel in the morning and drive an hour from Merida to the town of Celestun. Once we arrive we will go on a boat ride and enter the Celestun Biosphere Reserve to see many species of wildlife, mangroves and lagoons. Situated on the western coast of Gulf of Mexico, Celestun biosphere reserve is the perfect place to connect with nature. Named ‘la esperanza’ (the hope), this 21 kms long estuary is the ideal habitat for pink flamingos and various other animals. You will have the opportunity to see white tailed deers, armadillos, crocodiles, small wildcats, wild turkeys and flamingos. In the early afternoon we return to Celestun and have lunch, and then head back to Merida to bring you back to your hostel.
Please carry with you a towel, swimsuit, sunscreen and hat.
