Transfer to Tayrona National Park on Day 1 and take a 1-hour hike to Arrecifes accommodation with the rest of the day to enjoy the park. Overnight in a hammock. On Day 2 enjoy a full day to discover the beauty of Tayrona, go swimming, snorkelling or hike to El Pueblito archeological site. Discover stunning lush jungles and abundant wildlife. Overnight in a hammock. Hike back to Canaveral and take a transfer to Santa Marta arriving in the afternoon on Day 3.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Santa Marta - Tayrona National Park
Make your own way to the meeting point at El Rodadero Beach at 8:30am for your transfer to Tayrona Park, Cañaveral area. Once there you will hike for approximately 1 hour to your Arrecifes accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the Tayrona National Park. Watch out for Arrecifes’ waters since they have strong riptides. Overnight at Arrecifes on traditional Hammocks.
Day 2: Tayrona National Park - Free Day (B)
Enjoy a full day to discover the beauty of Tayrona National Park and its spectacular beaches: visit the beach of La Piscina, an area for swimming only, where the water is crystal clear with a natural, isolated setting, or walk to El Cabo beach, a large picnic and camping site located next to the ocean, perfect place for snorkelling. From El Cabo you can walk another hour to El Pueblito, a smaller archeological site similar to Ciudad Perdida. As you walk inland, discover luxuriant jungles and a stunning array of wildlife, keep your eyes open for howler and titi monkeys.
Clear waters, white sand, lush vegetation and stunning sunsets make Tayrona the idyllic place to rest and relax. Overnight in Arrecifes hammock.
Day 3: Tayrona National Park - Santa Marta (B)
Spend the morning to enjoy the park before hiking back to Cañaveral to catch your transfer back to Santa Marta. You will be dropped off at the meeting point at El Rodadero Beach. We wish you happiness and health for your journey onward.
