Depending on your time of arrival, you will have the rest of the day free at your convenience.

Accommodation: The Penh or Artist Guesthouse in standard room

Day 2: Phnom Penh to Kep – Overland transfer and time to put down your backpack and discover the laidback and local coastal town Depart at 9:30 AM on a two and a half hour journey to the coastal town of Kep.

Upon arrival in Kep, you will be transferred to your guesthouse and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Explore this quaint town littered with abandoned colonial villas and surrounded by pristine jungles and small islands and beaches.
We would recommend dinner tonight at the world famous crab market.

Accommodation: Reaksmey Krong Kep Guesthouse in standard room

Day 3: Kep – Morning bicycling in the countryside amongst rice fields and orchards with mountains in the background Your driver will pick you up from your guesthouse at 7:30 AM to start your bike trip.

This sleepy hamlet was once the administration centre for the area during the French era and the town is dotted with buildings from the Colonial past. Your bicycles and your English-speaking community guide will be waiting for you. Your bike ride will take you through rice fields, durian and rambutan orchards against the scenic backdrop of the mysterious ??Elephant Mountains'. Stop at local villages along the way to meet and speak with the local people. Your guide will help translate and if you are feeling adventurous try out a few words in Khmer!
Return to you hotel or guesthouse in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset.

Accommodation: Reaksmey Krong Kep Guesthouse in standard room

Day 4: Kep to Phnom Penh – Overland transfer back to the capital of Cambodia, a bustling colourful city Depart at 8:30 AM on a two and a half hour journey to the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your guesthouse for check-in. The rest of the day and evening is free for you to discover the city, and we will be happy to make some recommendations.

Accommodation: The Penh or Artist Guesthouse, Standard Room

Day 5: Phnom Penh – A fascinating and in-depth journey into the cuisine and modern history of Cambodia Around 8 am you will meet your guide at your hotel to start this unique tour, where you discover and reveal everything Phnom Penh has to offer.

Visit eh Pshar Kandal morning market and bite into all of its delicacies and mouth-watering street-eats. Go to the old French Quarter, which is home to fine colonial architecture; some buildings gorgeously restored, others beautifully decaying. Move on to the Buddhist temple of Wat Phnom, and understand the foundation on which Phnom Penh is built.

Move through the city and pass Raffles Hotel, the old post building, the disused train station and Cambodia's largest market, Psah Thmey. You will have the chance to discover the market's offerings from antique coins, gold and shoes to plastic goods, flowers and food. From city exploration it is now time, to pay respect to the dark history of the Cambodian Genocide. From 1976 to 1979 the Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia with their own form of ultra-Marxism, resulting in the deaths of millions and destruction of the country that can still be felt today. Toul Sleng Genocidal Museum (S-21), was once a high school and was converted into a detention and torture center during the Khmer Rouge regime. Toul Sleng remains to remind and educate all people about this dark time in Cambodian history.
After a long morning, you will end you trip at your guesthouse, and the rest of the afternoon is free for you to kick back and relax. We can recommend going for a sundowner along the river.

Meals: Breakfast/snacks during your tour
Accommodation: The Penh or Artist Guesthouse, Standard Room

Day 6: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap – Go by public bus overland and have time on your own to explore Phnom Penh Depart from Siem Reap at 8:30 AM and start your 6 hours journey to Phnom Penh.

You will be met by your Go Beyond represented and transferred to your hotel in Kep. Take a dip in the hotel pool, get a massage to decompress after a long day of traveling.

In the evening, explore the Old Market and Pub Street areas for some lively nightlife and dining options.

Accommodation: Dorm bed at White Rabbit Hostel (or similar)

Day 7: Siem Reap – Explore the marvellous temples of Angkor from sunrise to sunset Depart at 5:30 in the morning for sunrise at the temples of Angkor in Tuk Tuks.

Arriving at the mystical Srah Sarong or "King's Bath" at around 6am, just in time to see the sun rise over the water and temples. After sunrise, walk across the road and be first at the fabulous jungle temple of Ta Phrom when it opens. Ta Phrom is particularly amazing in the early morning when all you can hear are the sounds of the jungle, before the crowds arrive.

The Angkor Archaeological Park is visually, architecturally and artistically breath taking and one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia if not the world. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, the park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. You could spend weeks exploring the ruins, but on this day tour, you will have a chance to see all the highlights.

After Ta Phrom, you will visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom where you can take a quiet optional 1km walk along the wall and through the jungle to a hidden temple to enjoy your packed breakfast (on own arrangement). Then visit the temples of Bayon, Baphoun and Terrace of Elephants and Leper King. Take a break with a local lunch within and cold drinks within the park grounds (on own arrangement). After lunch and an optional siesta, you will visit Angkor Wat. The late afternoon is put aside for a visit to the main temple, Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is one of mankind's greatest achievements, and the intricate carvings at the temple of Angkor Wat demonstrate the skill of the Khmer builders. It had constructed in the jungle in the early 12th century, then - two centuries later - was mysteriously abandoned by the Khmer civilization. Now Angkor Wat is the main reason tourists come to visit Cambodia.
Finish the day with an unforgettable sunset on the quiet east side of Angkor Wat.

Accommodation: Dorm bed at White Rabbit Hostel (or similar)

Day 8: Siem Reap – Bike through the countryside and experience the local side of Cambodia Today you will bike through the surrounding countryside to prepare a local Khmer meal to offer to the monks.

Buddhist monks live away from their families and are not allowed to have normal jobs. They depend on the faith and charity of the local people. After a bike just outside of Siem Reap we will meet our chef from the village who takes us grocery shopping at a local food market. Maybe the chef will recommend that you to learn to cook the popular dish Amok, a fish soup, or Somlor Korko. After you have finished your Khmer cooking, the chef and his wife show you how to pack the meal and some rice into a banana leaf. A short walk takes us to the pagoda where the monks live so you can hand them the alms. Most likely the monk will give you a blessing and you can ask him everything you like to know regarding Cambodian culture and Buddhism. After you have given alms and eaten lunch in a local Cambodian home, you will bike back to your hotel.

Meals: Lunch
Accommodation: Dorm bed at White Rabbit Hostel (or similar)
